The first BARC Employee Legendary Service Award was presented in July 2013 by BARC Foundation VP & Treasurer, Ronada Davis, to Candy Cruz, BARC Shelter Employee.
The BARC Legendary Service Award was instituted by the City in July 2013 in order to recognize and reward outstanding BARC staff service and dedication to animal care at the shelter. The BARC Foundation underwrites $500 of each award and Proler Southwest, Inc. underwrites an equivalent amount for a total cash award of $1,000 given quarterly.
BARC Employee’s can be nominated by the community at large or by co-workers or other City employees that witness first-hand the exemplary service of a nominee. A panel of judges from BARC reviews all nominations and selects the winner each quarter.
